Here you will find a wide variety of digital essays on George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire, the HBO series Game of Thrones, and other aspects of the Game of Thrones phenomenon.
As a cultural phenomenon, Game of Thrones is remarkably diverse. This is reflected in the diversity of scholarly approaches possible. We have essays for all tastes, covering such topics as medieval history, medieval culture, ancient studies, literary studies, the politics and economics of George R.R. Martin’s fictional world, television studies, fan studies, and media studies.
